Oral language development is the foundation upon which a teacher may build their academic relationship with students and the other necessary language skills for their students to succeed. The purpose of this presentation will be to highlight and delve into specific discussion formats. We will look at how reflection and feedback improve the quality of discussion and examine practical assessment methods. Moreover, we will look at how to add to, enhance, and build discussion according to what students are ready for and require.
